Julia Charlton was delighted to be part of a panel discussion on “The Future of Virtual Asset and its Regulatory Landscape” at Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Better Web3 Forum on 22 April 2023

On the 22 of April 2023, Charltons’ managing partner, Julia Charlton, spoke as a panelist on ‘The Future of Virtual Asset and its Regulatory Landscape’ at Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Better Web3 Forum. She was joined by fellow panelists Kavi Harilela from Payment Asia, Lawrence Chu from VSFG, Raymond Chan from CFT, and Robert Lui from Deloitte China, with the panel being moderated by Paul Li from Polyu Law and Web3 Lab.

The issues discussed included Hong Kong’s new VASP regime and the virtual asset regimes of other major jurisdictions, SFC licenses involving crypto business from a licensee (or applicant) perspective, the crypto/fiat payment ecosystem, and the evolution of the Web 3 crypto regulation landscape in Hong Kong.
